Baby Briella Birthday Pool

The Rules

Exactly how this works — no surprises.

đŸĨ How You Enter

Each participant submits one prediction.

A submitted prediction is saved, but it is not entered in the contest. A prediction is entered — "locked in" — only when the participant purchases one Virtual Baby Briella Rubber Duck for $10 and that payment succeeds.

One Rubber Duck purchase corresponds to one prediction. Rubber Ducks cannot be bought in quantity, and buying one does not create additional predictions or additional chances to win.

Purchasing the Rubber Duck is what makes a prediction count. It is a required payment to take part, not an optional add-on.

✉ī¸ Email Verification

We ask every participant to verify their email address so we can reach them if they win. Verification is requested but not required.

Verifying your email does not enter your prediction, and leaving it unverified does not remove you. A paid, locked-in prediction with an unverified email address is fully eligible and can win. A verified email address with no Rubber Duck purchase is not entered and cannot win.

You can verify before or after purchasing — the order doesn't matter.

🔮 Your Prediction

You'll predict the date, time, weight, and height.

All times are Eastern Time (ET) for this pool.

More than one person may pick the same date — the exact time is what sets guesses apart.

Predictions cannot be changed once they are locked in.

💰 Where the Money Goes

50% of qualifying Rubber Duck sale proceeds becomes the total gift-prize pool. The organizer keeps the other 50%, which is not prize money.

"Qualifying" means Rubber Ducks that were paid for and not refunded. Card processing fees are not deducted before the 50% is calculated — the split is applied to the sale amounts themselves.

The prize pool is divided evenly across the three winner categories. When it doesn't divide evenly by three, the leftover cents go to the earlier categories in this order: date & time, then weight, then height — so the three shares always add up to exactly the prize pool.

Example: 9 Rubber Ducks × $10 = $90.00 in sales → $45.00 prize pool → $15.00 per category.

🏆 Three Ways to Win

Your one prediction enters you in three official winner categories, each judged independently:

  • Closest Date & Time — closest to the actual moment of birth. Earlier or later doesn't matter; only the distance counts.
  • Closest Weight — closest to her actual birth weight, over or under.
  • Closest Height — closest to her actual height, over or under.

Because the categories are judged separately, one person can win more than one — win two and you take two shares; sweep all three and the whole prize pool is yours.

Ties. If a category ends in an exact tie, the prediction that was submitted earliest wins it. In the astronomically unlikely event two were submitted at the very same instant, the one our system recorded first wins.

Only locked-in predictions are judged. There's also a just-for-fun đŸŽ¯ Bullseye shout-out for nailing the exact date — bragging rights only, no prize money.

âŗ Deadline & Payment Timing

Predictions close on October 1, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET — or sooner if the organizer locks the pool (for example, if Baby decides to come early!).

Once predictions close, no new Rubber Duck purchases can be started.

If a payment you started before the deadline completes after it, that Rubber Duck cannot lock in a prediction. In that case the payment is refunded in full, automatically. We will not keep money for an entry you didn't get.

↊ī¸ Refunds

Before results are published: a fully refunded Rubber Duck stops being an entry — that prediction is no longer eligible to win — and its sale stops counting toward the prize pool, so the projected prize amounts go down accordingly.

After results are published: the winners and the prize amounts are final. A refund at that point is recorded and flagged to the organizer to resolve, but it does not change who won or how much was announced.

Partial refunds: the prediction stays locked in, and only the amount actually kept counts toward the prize pool.

đŸ“Ŗ Winner Notification

When Baby arrives, the organizer records the actual birth details and publishes the results. Winners are announced on the results page and the leaderboard using each participant's public display name.

The organizer contacts winners at the email address on their prediction and arranges the gift prize directly. That's why we ask you to verify your address — an unverified winner is still a winner, but harder to reach.

Participant email addresses are never shown publicly.

💗 Contributions Are Separate

Contributions to Baby's fund are a gift, entirely separate from the contest. A contribution:

  • is never required
  • does not lock in a prediction
  • does not provide additional predictions
  • does not affect anyone's chance of winning
  • does not count toward the Rubber Duck prize pool

Prize money comes from Rubber Duck sales only.

🤝 Fair Play & Disqualification

Participants may not change or time their predictions based on non-public information — like news of active labor, a hospital admission, or a scheduled delivery.

The organizer may disqualify a prediction for fraud, duplicate or impersonated entries, abuse, or attempts to game the contest. A disqualified prediction cannot win, and the organizer records a reason for every disqualification.

The organizer may also correct obvious technical errors to keep things fair for everyone.

This pool is run privately by the organizer for friends and family. Payments are processed by Stripe; card details are never received or stored by this site.

The organizer makes no representation about whether taking part is permitted where you live, and makes no statement about the tax treatment of any prize. Void where prohibited. If you're unsure, please don't take part.

Participants must be 18 or older.
